Gerardo Bezares

He has a law degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, with a pre-specialty in Administrative Law.

He has taken several courses before the Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Federal Court of Administrative Justice, the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, the National Institute of Copyright, the Ius Semper University, and the Institute of Intellectual Property and Competition Law.

He has given talks on Business Law and Intellectual Property at Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Mexico City and the Entrepreneurs Association of Mexico. He has also published several articles in the magazine El Contribuyente, related to well-known brands, geographical indications, amendments to the Industrial Property Law and Industrial Designs. He has also collaborated with prestigious Mexican firms.

He is currently the founder and managing partner of the law firm BEZARES, TORRES, HERNÁNDEZ “BE THE IP”, acting as external advisor to various intellectual property firms. He is a member of the International Trademarks Association, Business Network International and the World Independent Lawyers League, an international association of lawyers with a presence in 72 countries.

In addition to specializing in Intellectual Property, he has successfully filed actions against immigration authorities, and against the Energy Regulatory Commission, for the illegal revocation of a power generation project worth several million dollars.
