Rodrigo Calderón
Rodrigo Calderón is a partner of the firm, and specializes in all aspects of new creations, including patents, utility models, industrial designs and plant varieties. As well as in technology transfer, licensing and patent litigation.
He was a founding partner of Córdova, Campos & Calderón, S.C. that merged with BE THE IP, to join experiences, knowledge and strengthen specific areas and strategies for the benefit of our clients.
His practice focuses on everything related to patents, including drafting patent applications, processing and resolving formal and substantive examinations, analysis of the state of the art, as well as technical support for patent litigation.
Due to his experience, knowledge and creativity in all aspects of patents, Rodrigo is considered one of the most capable and recognized patent specialists in Mexico. He has worked on numerous “high-profile” patent prosecution and litigation cases and has been involved in the negotiations and drafting of important amendments to the Mexican Industrial Property legal framework.
His specialty extends to other matters related to life sciences, offering specialized counsel on regulatory matters.
Professional Education
He is a Biologist with a master’s degree in Biomedical Science and a specialization in Intellectual Property from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
He has been author of several articles related to life sciences, as well as notable topics on Intellectual Property. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI), of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and has participated as an advisor on Intellectual Property of the Mexican Association of the Pharmaceutical Research Industry (AMIIF).
